The Senator representing Bauchi Central, Isah Misau, has filed a motion before an Abuja high court seeking to discountenance the suit filed against him by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
The senator is also asking for time to put up a strong defence against the allegation of defamation filed against him by the police chief.
IGP Idris is asking for five million naira damages in response to claims of corruption and abuse of office made against him.
In the statement of claims, the IGP alleges that Senator Misau’s allegations have brought him to disrepute and injured his reputation.
Justice Jude Okeke adjourned the matter till December eleven for hearing.
