Taraba State Police command has arrested three notorious kidnappers of a six-man gang terrorising Adamawa and Taraba States.
During a raid on their hideouts, an AK-47 Rifle and other dangerous weapons were recovered while a manhunt is ongoing to track down fleeing members.
Taraba State is now facing another wave of kidnap cases.
Hardly a day passes without a case of kidnapping either reported or not reported to security agents.
The recent case was the kidnap of Takum Local Government chairman whose orderly was killed by his abductors.
This new trend of insecurity has Governor Darius Ishaku worried and security agents are now doubling efforts to put the menace under control.
This has led to the latest arrest of these three suspects.
They are inter-border kidnappers operating in Adamawa and Taraba states.
Addressing a press conference in Jalingo, the Police Commissioner through the command’s image maker assured residents of their safety .
One of the kidnappers confessed to have been caught in the act while in the process of collecting ransom from a victim’s relative.
