The people of Southern Kaduna, in Kaduna state, northwest Nigeria have witnessed relative peace for the larger part of this year.
They have over the years witnessed several attacks from alleged armed Fulani militia.
Now, the people say consolidating on the peace, and having more development in the region may come with certain moves.
They are suggesting for the government to speedily consider the creation of Gurara state from the present Kaduna state.
This is part of their resolve after series of meetings, with talks about restructuring still ongoing.

But the Southern Kaduna natives also want to be addressed as people of the middle belt henceforth, and no more as northerners.
