Nigerian midfielder, Lukman Haruna, has expressed optimism at the chances of the Super Eagles exceeding expectations in Russia.
Nigeria are drawn in Group D with debutants, Iceland, Argentina and France 1998 World Cup third-placed team, Croatia.
The Eagles will kick off their campaign against Croatia on the 16th of June.
The former Monaco star is one of only two players to have represented Nigeria at the FIFA Under-17, the Under-20 and the Senior World Cups.
