President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the state over the killings which he described as “wicked and callous”.
In his reaction to the incident, he also wished the injured speedy healing.
There were more than a dozen attacks and counter attacks regarding herdsmen in Benue State in 2017.

Nine of the dead in the latest incident were Livestock Guards, employed to ensure the full implementation of Benue State’s Anti-Open Grazing Law.
