The Chairman, Senate Committee on Local Content, Senator Solomon Adeola has shifted the delay in the passage of the 2018 budget on the federal ministries and agencies due to what he called their lackadaisical attitude to work.
Senator Adeola who made this known during the New Year party held at his hometown in Ilaro, Ogun State said the Senate was willing to have the budget passed before the end of 2017 but most of the ministries and agencies were not able to provide necessary documents and explanations to back their claims in the budget document.
He added that the senate on its part has vowed to defend the interest of Nigerians by scrutinising the document and monitor the budget performance for the last year before the passage of the new one but the executive arm through the ministries and agencies is not living up to expectations.
