Foreign ministers from six Arab countries are in Amman to discuss U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
The meeting between officials from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, the UAE, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority is part of a process set up by the Arab League after its emergency meeting last month.
Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital infuriated the Arab world and upset Western allies.
It has sparked violent protests on a weekly basis along the Israel-Gaza border and in the occupied West Bank.
Israel considers all of Jerusalem to be its capital but Palestinians want the eastern part of the city as the capital of a future independent state of their own
