According to the Route Commander and Public Education Officer of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, has said, Four persons were confirmed dead and 13 injured in an accident at Kilometre 82 of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State. the accident might have been caused by over speeding. The accident, which occurred on Saturday evening, involved an Innoson brand of bus, registered as AKL 450 YY, and a Toyota Sienna, registered as FST 370 DC.
Two men and two women died in the accident. In a statement on behalf of the Sector Commander, Clement Oladele, the route commander said the injured were taken to Broad Life Hospital at Olowotedo and Idera Hospital in Sagamu. The remains of the dead were deposited at Fakoya Mortuary in Sagamu.
Okpe said: “Speeding was suspected as the cause of the crash. The injured were taken to Broad Life Hospital at Olowotedo and Idera Hospital in Sagamu, while the bodies of those killed were deposited at Fakoya Mortuary in Sagamu.
“Besides, police MTD from Mowe Police Station was informed about the accident.
“Motorists are enjoined to drive cautiously, obey traffic regulations and follow instructions from FRSC patrol teams and other traffic agencies.”
