Maisamari community in Taraba state has been thrown into pandemonium as suspected Fulani militiamen struck in the early hours of Monday, killing three and wounding fifteen.
The attackers opened fire on a gathering of people who were celebrating their yearly Maisamari Cultural dance.
The Taraba state police command confirmed the attack, noting that unidentified gunmen carried out the dastardly act.
The spokesman of the command said that more security personnel have been drafted to the area to douse tension.
Some community leaders in Taraba pointed accusing finger on Miyetti Allah as the brain behind the attack. According to them, series of meetings have been held by the same group which resulted in the attacks in Adamawa state and Mambilla plateau.
