The former National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Victor Umeh, has been declared winner in the Anambra Central Senatorial rerun election.According to the chief returning officer for the election, Umeh polled sixty five thousand to defeat
thirteen other contenders to emerge winner.
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP did not participate in the election.
Election watchers said that the process was largely peaceful but was characterised by voter apathy across the seven local government areas of Anaocha, Awka North and South, Dunukofia, Njikoka, as well as Idemili North and South.
