The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, says his visit to President Muhammadu Buhari had nothing to do with former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter.
Despite insinuations that the meeting was not a mere coincidence,Tinubu says the visit and the letter are “totally unconnected.”
In a statement by his spokesman, Tunde Rahman, the former Lagos state governor said the meeting was one of Buhari’s usual meetings with the party leaders.
Tinubu and the former Interim Chairman of the Party, Bisi Akande had met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential villa in Abuja on Tuesday shortly after Obasanjo released his scathing letter to the President, advising him to not seek reelection.
Journalists were not given access to the APC leaders.
