Even with Federal Government’s attempt to resolve the lingering fuel shortage across Nigeria, smugglers are taking the products out of the country.
The Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service intercepted over seventeen thousand, six hundred litres of premium motor spirit loaded in hundreds of 25kg kegs.
The area comptroller of the command, Sarkin-kebbi Mustapha revealed that the products were captured along Yekeme creek in Badagry bordering Benin Republic.
Other seizures made include one hundred and ninety-five bales of second hand clothings valued at more than sixteen million naira.
The command intercepted over seventy thousand litres of fuel in 2017.
