Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamawa state chapter, has removed its chairman, Ibrahim Bilal, over alleged anti-party and financial misconduct.
He was also accused of gross violation of party’s constitution.
His deputy, Ismaila Tadawus has been sworn-in as new chairman with 24 of 36 members appending their signatures.
The decision was reached after an emergency meeting at the party secretariat, Yola.
Addressing Journalists, the APC state PRO said that Ibrahim Bilal is no longer their leader after the vote of no confidence passed on him.
According to him, the SEC has invoked article 21.5 (vi) of the party’s constitution which vested them with the powers to pass vote of no confidence on him this day of September 2022.
In a swift reaction, the embattled party state chairman described his removal as illegal that would hold no water.
