The Senate has postponed the national summit on security in honour of the late former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme who will be buried on Saturday.
The summit, scheduled to hold on February the 1st and 5th at the Banquet Hall of the State House was to be declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement issued by the chairman of the Chairman, Senate ad-hoc committee on review of security infrastructure, Ahmed Lawan, the postponement was to honour the late former Vice President, and to also enable Federal legislators, particularly those from the South-East, fully take part in the burial programme of the late elder statesman.
Lawan said a new date for the summit would be announced later.
