Activities of Illegal miners in many parts of the country have been described as causing environmental problems and can lead to calamity if proper attention is not given to the matter.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bimbo Ashiru made this known during a stakeholder’s forum held in Abeokuta.
He maintained that sand dredger and illegal miners will continue to exploit the people and create problems if their activities are not checked.
The Commissioner said the state Government and the Federal government will work on how to improve measures put in place to regulate their activities.
