Yobe state Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, says none of the abducted students of Government Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi, has been rescued.
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents raided the school on Monday and abducted some of the students.
It was said on Wednesday night that the army had been able to secure the release some of the girls, even though no details were given.
But speaking when he visited the community on Thursday, Gaidam told family members of the students to keep praying that the girls should be found.
Residents expressed anger and demanded to know the reason for the deception.
Out of the 926 students in the school, more than 50 are still unaccounted for.
