Three policemen have been reportedly killed and another abducted by unidentified gunmen in Enugu.
The incident was said to have occurred Wednesday night, around New Haven, Enugu North Local Government Area of the state.
Sources told TVC News that the attack occurred around 10:30 pm in front of St. Francis Supermarket at Block Bus stop.
According to reports, the armed assailants attacked the area and engaged the police officers performing stop-and-search operations in a gun duel.
Unfortunately, three policemen were reported to have paid the supreme price and shot dead.
The hoodlums were reported to have taken away their guns and abducted one person,” one of the sources said.
When contacted the state police public relations officer DSP Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the incident, said Intensive manhunt operation is ongoing to fish out the unknown assailants
