A Daf truck has rammed into a building at Adewusi village on the Abeokuta – Ibadan highway killing a pregnant woman and a minor.
Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesperson, Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps ( TRACE) confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi explained that the incident occured at 6:49am on Friday morning at the village around Kila in Odeda local government area of the state.
The TRACE spokesman noted that the truck marked BDJ 112 XF was on excessive speed, loss control and rammed into the building.
He stated that the deceased were all occupants of the building.
“The vehicle is a loaded cement truck coming from Ewekoro transiting onward Ibadan,” he said.
He added that three male adults, a pregnant woman and two male children were involved in the accident, saying that four people were injured in the incident.
Akinbiyi explained that the injured have been taken to the State Hospital, Odeda while the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.
He said that the command had called for deployment of policemen to the area to calm the situation because of the angry villagers.
He enjoined articulated vehicle drivers to avoid speeding and also ensure they service their vehicles as at when due to avoid crashes.
