The apex socio-cultural organisation of the Igbo, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ondo state chapter has lamented the marginalisation of politicians from the region from taking the over mantle of leadership of the country.
The group at the end of a meeting in Akure, said it is sad that the southeast has not produced the Vice president and President of Nigeria since the return of democratic government in 1998.
Speaking at the end of the meeting with reporters in Akure, the Secretary General of the group, Uche Erondu it is necessary for the Igbos to produce the president of the country after the 2019 General election.
He added that it wont be out of place if the leading political parties in the country correct in the injustice meted out to the Igbos in the scheme of things.
