Another batch of persons who claim to be members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This comes as PDP in the state continues its campaign to increase the party’s membership strength ahead of the 2019 general elections.
It was the latest in the wave of defections from the APC to PDP in Rivers State.
And this time around, it is the people of Etche Local Government Area who have taken that decision.
Their leaders say the choice to support Governor Nyesom Wike for a second term in office was borne out of the need to sustain the current pace of development in the state.
PDP leaders in attendance say not less than 3000 persons joined the party at this rally.
The defectors also formally declared their intention to become members of a Pro-PDP socio-political group, the Grassroot Development Initiative, GDI.
