Senator Godswill Akpabio from Akwa Ibom State has emerged as the President of the 10th Senate.
Mr Akpabio who is the immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs defeated Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari to emerge Chairman of the 10th National Assembly.
Mr Akpabio, the preferred candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), scored 63 votes against Yari’s 46 Votes.
Senator Godswill Akpabio was also a former Minority Leader of the Senate a Two term Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Senator Jibrin Barau was also elected unopposed as the Deputy President of the Senate.
