Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has distributed no fewer than 60 motorbikes for effective rescue operations and general improved monitoring of identified hotspots in six local governments
The Comptroller in charge of the command, Isiah Kamilu who distributed the motor bikes at a colourful ceremony in Gembu, headquarters of Sardauna local government, charged the corps to work together towards restoring permanent peace in the area, advising them to shun unnecessary rivalry.
The command says it would not leave any stone unturned in its bid to meet its constitutional obligations of ridding the society of crimes and is giving out motorbikes to its men and other security agencies to enable them penetrate difficult terrains.
The commander shed light on why the motorbikes were distributed as directed by his boss.
He spoke on NSCDC’s efforts to work with other security agencies to tackle prevailing activities of kidnappers, Farmers/herders clashes in Taraba state
He explained that his men were working tirelessly with the state ministry of education to fortify schools against abduction, as directed by President Buhari.
The NSCDC boss proceeded to organise a dinner party to boost the morale of his personnel in the Mambilla Plateau.
