Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, is set to commission some road projects in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital completed by the state governor, Seyi Makinde.
The road projects to be commissioned are 7.2km Idi-Ape-Odogbo Barrack Road and General Gas Flyover all within the Ibadan metropolis.
Oyo Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Wasiu Olatubosun made this known through a a press statement.
According to the statement, some of the projects billed to be commissioned by Gov. Fayemi during his visit include the Idi-Ape-Odogbo Barrack Road, 7.2km and General Gas Flyover completed by Governor Seyi Makinde.
The statement further revealed that the commissioning ceremony will take place at Isabatudeen Girls Grammar School, Orita Basorun, Ibadan.
Wasiu disclosed that the commissioning of the projects is part of the Governor’s efforts at realising the four pillars to accelerated development of Oyo State.
This is coming barely a month after his Rivers state counterpart, Governor Nyesom Wike, invited Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress including two term Sokoto state governor, Senator Aliu Wamako to Commission some completed projects in Port Harcourt.
This is also not the first time Governor Makinde of PDP would be inviting a Governor on the platform of the APC to commision projects in the state.
Kwara state governor, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman was in Oyo state few months ago to commission the construction of the 76.67 kilometres Ogbomoso-Fapote-Iseyin Road.
Makinde and Wike are strong political allies on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party and have been embroiled in political face-off with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar since the conclusion of PDP presidential primary in Abuja.
