The state chairman of the Labour Party Bello Adebayo has been suspended for misappropriation of 34 million naira polling agents funds during February presidential election.
His suspension was announced at a press conference addressed by the chairman of his ward in Osogbo Local Government Hammed Sherriff.
The party also alleged Bello Adebayo of anti-party activity including serving as informant for other political parties in the state.
The press conference was attended by the chairman of the party in all the 13 local governments that make up the state who also threw their weight
behind the suspension.
In the meantime, Susan Ojo will act as the chairman of the party in the state.
The newly appointed party chairman Susan Ojo used the opportunity to call on security officers and the public to disregard Mr Adebayo’s purported press conference which is conspicuously in pure gain adding that the set back he has caused the party is enough.
She noted that the only recognised leadership of the party remains the Alhaji Lamidi Apapa led national working committee.
