The National Universities Commission has approved the establishment of Kogi State University Kabba as the 3rd state university in the state.
Kogi State is a state in the North Central region of Nigeria with three senatorial Districts.
It shares borders with Edo, Ekiti, Ondo, Benue, Enugu, Niger and the Nations Capital, FCT.
Its strategic positioning makes it the ideal destination for higher education for residents not only within but from surrounding states.
But it has only a few institutions to care for this demand .
The governor and his delegation were at the National Universities commision to seek approval for its 3rd state university.
Having met the demands and requirements, the commission gave go ahead for the establishment of the University.
With two state owned universities already in existence in Kogi East and Kogi Central Senatorial District of the state, the government is locating the new university in kogi west senatorial district to ensure equity and fairness.
With this approval, Nigeria now have 62 state owned universities and 264 universities in general across the Country.
