Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has declared that the state was winning the war against sit-at-home enforcers and would never take orders from people he described as murderers and enemies of Igbo land.
The governor who stated this at an interactive session with media organizations, including online platforms in Enugu, urged the media to team up with his Government to fight against criminality in the state.
Governor Peter Mbah is resolved not to leave any stone unturned in his efforts to transform the state economy from its current $4.4 billion to a projected $30 billion within four to eight years in office.
In order to create a habitable and sustainable business friendly climate for investment to thrive, Gov. Mbah prioritizes security, which investors do not want to take lightly.
Several steps taken in the meetings with stakeholders on the need to instill confidence in their consciousness that business of governance needs the cooperation of the people, to be able to arrive at a destination where everyone would be proud of their contribution to the development of the state.
At the maiden interactive session with newsmen, Governor Mbah submits that there was no way Enugu could become the premier destination for investment and tourism when the people were still taking orders from non-state actors.
He urged newsmen to be professional in their duty through investigative and modern journalism to fact-check and verify the authenticity of information before feeding them to the public.
