Armed bandits have again kidnapped twenty three Women in Damaga district of Maradun local government area of Zamfara state.
The women were abducted at about 12noon Thursday when they went to the bush to fetch firewood.
A source told TVC News that surrounding Communities are now leaving in fear as no one knows where the Terrorists will strike again.
“As I am talking to you now, we’ve discovered twenty of them were taken away by the bandits” the source said.
“We are all confuse as we don’t know what will happen next, because it is clear they are all around our villages waiting for whom to kidnap for ransom”
In a related Development, Gunmen invaded Talata Mafara town and abducted ten staff of a road construction company, Triacta. This was also confirmed by another reliable source in the area.
The Terrorists according to our source stormed the House of a former Member of the House of Representatives, representing Talata Mafara /Anka federal Constituency, Kabiru Classic.
They later moved to a Community near Low Cost area at about 11:00pm and went straight to a House where the company is renting for it’s workers and started shooting sporadically
Their intention was to kidnap all the workers and move them into the bush, but Intervention by joint Security Operatives in injunction with local vigilante refused the bandits space to do as they wish
The bandits were successfully chased away by security Operatives after exchanging fire for almost two hours
One person was said to have sustained gunshot injury and is currently receiving medical attention in an health facility.
Maradun Local Government area is the hometown of the immediate past Governor of Zamfara State Bello Matawalle while Talata Mafara is the hometown of his predecessor, former Governor Abdul’azeez Yari
The two affected local Councils are neighbors and are all located in Western Zamfara.
