Heavy security presence can be seen in the Kaduna State capital as members of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) join their counterparts in other states in their nationwide protest.
The Kaduna State Police Command has assured the public that they are ready to maintain law and order.
Additional security personnel have been deployed to potential hotspots to ensure a peaceful demonstration while protecting lives and property.
The NLC members insist that the protest is their powerful means of expressing their collective resolve to bring attention to urgent matters.
Their key demands include the immediate implementation of resolutions jointly signed by the NLC, the federal government, and the Trade Union Congress.
They are also demanding a reversal of all anti-poor policies, including recent price hikes of essential commodities like Premium Motor Spirit.
