The Nigeria Immigration Service, Kano Command has rescued six victims of human trafficking and smuggling in the state.
The victims were en-route to Libya without legal documents.
TVC News Kano Correspondent Ibrahim Isah reports that the victims will be reunited with their families in accordance with the laws.
Human trafficking and smuggling is a crime that has slowly taken root in Nigeria over the years, as young men and women embark onbillegal journeys in search for greener pastures abroad.
The Nigeria Immigration Service, Kano Command has cut short the journey of these six victims.
They were intercepted while on their way to Libya without legal documents at Bachirawa in Kano alongside one suspect.
The operation embarked upon by the operatives is sequel to section 64, 65 and 100 of the Nigeria Immigration Act.
Comptroller of the Kano Immigration Service is worried that the female victims were lured into a journey full of risks.
In June 2023, Kano immigration command intercepted 18 victims in the state while on their way to Libya.
The immigration Service is hopeful that the arrests will serve as a lesson to many young men and women who are planning on embarking on similar journeys.
