Katsina state Governor Dikko Umar Radda has again reaffirmed his commitment of his government to addressing squarely the issues of insecurity.
To this effect, the government has enacted a containment order to keep a watch on the situation and recruited additional hands to assist in keeping an eye on local and hard-to-reach communities.
The issue of insecurity has compelled states affected to adopt new workable approaches to ending the ugly trend by all means.
To this end, the Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda has been holding meetings with the armed forces to arrive at lasting solutions as far as security is concerned.
The state has also released over seven billion naira to procure 65 four wheel trucks and 700 motorcycles in addition to other equipment to enhance patrol and counter-terrorism activities across the state.
The recent resurgence of banditry and kidnapping in the neighboring Zamfara state and parts of Katsina has remained a source of worry for the government.
Governor Radda in strong terms says he will not enter into any form of negotiation with the bandits until they lay down their arms.
The government is also working round the clock to assist the victims of banditry or their families to ease their suffering.
The months ahead will mean a lot in the fight to combat insecurity as the government deploys men and equipment to communities affected to protect themselves.
