Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas has appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Leaders to call off the scheduled national industrial action.The Governor made the appeal during its independence broadcast in Jalingo where he congratulated Taraba residents and Nigerians for the nation independence celebration.
For the the spirit of the nation’s independence celebration 17 prisoners serving their jail terms in various correctional facility in Taraba state were pardoned by the Governor .
He however reversed the death sentences of four prisoners to life imprisonment while 17 are to regain their freedom
The governor said the move will give them a second chance after they are reintegrated into the society.
He urges citizens to remain hopeful and steadfast in their commitment to building a better future despite the current socio-economic problems.
He said that his administration is working tirelessly to create an enabling environment for growth and prosperity.
According to him, his plans in the in the agricultural, health, education, security,and other sectors of the state’s economy remain unwavering and he seeks the improved collaboration of residents to achieve his administration goals
Governor Kefas spoke extensively on his determination to ensure a secure environment for residents.
He said that his administration has rolled out many human development policies which include free Education for residents from primaries to secondary schools level.
