The video of Governor Rotimi Akereodolu of Ondo State receiving his colleagues from the southwest states has surfaced on the social media.
Governors of Dapo Abiodun Of Ogun State, Seyi Makinde Of Oyo State, Biodun Oyebanji Of Ekiti State and Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Of Lagos State were all seen in the video.
Governor Akeredolu, who is also the Chairman of the Southwest Governors Forum appreciated the Governors for their solidarity visit, harping on the continuous collaboration among Southwest States.
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, speaking on behalf of the Other Governors said the Forum is praying for Governor Akeredolu, adding that he has the support of all the Governors in the region.
The Governors discussed National and other Issues affecting the region and the people.
Governor Akeredolu who was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier in the year and had been on Medical vacation returned recently to the Country from Germany.
He has since spent more time away from Ondo State recuperating in Ibadan while his deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was acting governor in his absence is now battling a bid by the State House of Assembly to remove him from office on allegations of gross misconduct.
The absence of Governor Akeredolu from Ondo State has generated reactions including an unsuccessful attempt at organising a protest by the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The visit by the Southwest governors with the exception of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is a pointer that the governor is alive and well.
