Speaker Abbas Tajudeen gave the assurance while declaring open a two-day post inauguration retreat for members of the House Committee on Defence.
Insecurity is still one of the numerous challenges successive administrations in Nigeria have had to contend with since 2009.
Banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other vices have combined to stretch the fabrics of the nation’s security architecture.
This two-day post inauguration retreat, organised jointly by the House Committee on Defence and the National Defence Academy, is to empower legislators with requisite knowledge as they settle down to legislative oversight.

Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, declared the event open, he said the 10th House is determined to strengthen the capacity of Nigeria’s Armed Forces to be able to respond to rising security challenges.
His gave a strong assurance that the parliament will work round the clock to address the remote and immediate causes of insecurity
Insecurity is one of the eight-point legislative agenda of the 10th House of Representatives unveiled on Tuesday by the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas. The House hopes to adopt legislative measures to improve Nigeria’s security.
