The Ondo state government has faulted the news going round some media platforms that the Acting Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa has frozen local government accounts.
The state government described the news as false and misleading.
A statement issued by the state Commissioner for information and orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju urged officials of local governments to disregard the rumour.
The statement said and I quote “At no time has the Acting Governor or any functionary of the state put a freeze on local government accounts or order any closure. This information is fake and baseless”
The commissioner also faulted the alleged suspension Chief of Protocol to the Governor, Bola Alabi by the Acting Governor.
Mrs. Ademola-Olateju implored journalists to always confirm the veracity of every information from appropriate quarters before dissemination.
