Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has announced intentions to improve the state’s Local Government Area Council electoral process to allow ‘honest’ people to compete.
The governor announced this on Saturday in Mafa, Mafa LGA, Borno State, adding that the process will be refined to guarantee that people elected the best without regard for sentiments.
Zulum voted in Mafa Ward’s Ajari II polling unit 006, which serves as the local government area headquarters.
He said, “Our electoral process has to be enhanced, the process has to be modest and then we need honest people to contest for elections and we also want voters that can tell the difference, voters that can choose the best without sentiments.
“Elections at the local government level have not been consistent and are not conducted at the due time. This has to be corrected, and henceforth, we shall ensure that elections at the local government level are done as and when due. The quality of the election will also be improved.”
