Thousands of women are to be empowered through vocational training and small scale businesses in Osun State.
Wife of the state Governor, Ngozi Adeleke was speaking at the flag off of a skills acquisition programme in Osogbo
The beneficiaries are thirty.
They were selected from all the thirty local Governments that make up Osun State.
They training will last for one year after which the beneficiaries will be provided with working tools and funds to start up their own.
Wife of the State Governor, Ngozi Adeleke said the motive is to empower women and reduce poverty among them.
The training covers a spectrum of various fields which include; Computer literacy, soap making, graphic design, photography, shoemaking, beauty cosmetology, catering, fashion designing among others.
The event featured cultural display and presentation of gifts.
