Officers of Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC have arrested a 21-year-old undergraduate, Anthony Edum Oscar for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old girl in the state.
Oscar is one of the three suspected criminals arrested by the state command of NSCDC in Akure.
This 21-year-old undergraduate of the University of Calabar, Cross River State, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the abduction of a 17-year-old girl in Akure, Ondo State capital.
The State Commandant of NSCDC, Oluyemi Ibiloye, who paraded the suspect and two others before journalists in Akure, explained that Oscar collected 50,000 naira as ransom from parents of the victim.
Ibiloye added that the suspect, who was arrested by the tactical team, specialised in kidnapping of teenagers for ransom.
But the suspect said he only duped the parents of the victim.
The commandant also paraded a suspect for his involvement in visa scam and serial burglary.
