Former Taraba state Governor Darius Ishaku, has described the death of his former Commissioner for health, Dr. Innocent Vakkai, as great loss to the state and the nation at large.
Mr Ishaku in a statement signed by Bala Dan Abu says late Vakkai, was one of the brightest and most hard working members of the Taraba State Executive Council between 2015 and 2023.
The former Governor recalled the contributions of Dr Vakkai to the achievements of his administration in the area of primary health care, the reconstruction of three general hospitals in Gembu, Bambur and Wukari, each of them with MRI machines which led to the reduction of infant mortality and frequent death of women during child birth.
He expressed sympathy with members of the family of the late former Commissioner and prayed God to console them and to grant the soul of the departed former Commissioner eternal rest.
