The Defense Headquarters is training its troops on how best to maintain human rights as it engages in Operation Safe Haven has organized a lecture on human rights for troops of Operation Safe Haven.
The training becomes necessary for the troops in preventing the violation of the rights of innocent civilians.
Maintaining a cordial relationship between members of the armed forces and the civilian population is a top priority for the defence headquarters, and this lecture is primarily for troops of Operation Safe Haven.
Among other key issues outlined here is for them not to be selective in the protection of civilians during conflict.
They were also made to understand that there is no intensity of military operations that would justify the unlawful killing of civilians.
This training is also aimed at boosting the capacity of personnel during internal security operations, where troops engage civilians regularly.
The participants are expected to return and share their knowledge with their colleagues who were not selected to attend the lectures.
