The Governor of Kogi state has called on all tribes in the state to use the diversity in cultures and traditions to build a solid base for unity and progress.
Usman Ododo, spoke through his deputy, Joel Oyibo, at the 2024 Ekinrin-Ade Day celebration.
One year after the monarch of Ekinrin Ade was elevated to a first class status, it is another moment of celebration here.
It’s the 31st edition of the Ekinrin Ade Day celebration in Ijumu local government area of Kogi State.
The day, holds in June, every year and it coincides with the harvest of yams by the community.
Sons and Daughters of Ekinrinade, both at home and in the diaspora come together this time every year to celebrate culture, tradition and togetherness.

The State Governor, Usman Ododo, appreciates the support of the people of the community which led to his landslide victory in the 2023 Governorship election.
He renews his administration’s commitment to developing the area as he calls for unity and progress.
The Day also attracts traditional rulers within and outside the state.
The monarch of Ekinrin ade who was elevated to first class by former Governor, Yahaya Bello, is full of gratitude to everyone.
He says the annual celebration has brought his community to limelight.
