The Kebbi State Government is set to embark on massive infrastructural development in the state owned Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero.
The Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji Isah Abubakar Tunga, made this known while speaking with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state Capital.
While reacting to a press conference by the State Wing of ASUU at the Kebbi state institute of Science and technology Aliero, the Commissioner announced that he has submitted the memo to the Governor which has been received regarding the payment of their consequential adjustment which has since been sent to the Due Process Office.
He assured the union that the Due Process office has completed work on the file, and immediately the Governor returns from Hajj, he will give his approval and payment will be effected.
The commissioner further added that Governor Nasir Idris has approved one hundred and nineteen million naira for the first convocation of the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, to graduate 12 sets of graduates. This will be the first convocation since the establishment of the institution.
He explained that as part of the efforts of Governor Nasir Idris to improve infrastructure in the institution, 50 houses would be renovated as well as a Mosque, while new ones would be constructed including additional hostels for students and staff quarters.
