Eight students of Osun State University, have been awarded a sum of one million naira to assist them in their final year research project as pioneer undergraduate student research support grantees of the institution.
Presenting the beneficiaries their cheques at an event held at Osogbo main campus of the institution, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Clement Adeboooye said the gesture is meant to motivate the students into working harder to achieve outstanding results.
Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Professor. Adetunji Lawrence, Professor Clement Adeboooye said the selection process for the maiden edition of the grant involved calls for applications to all final year students.
According to him, assessment of entries by a high-profile Management Committee, and selection of the best research proposal were done without bias.
The Vice Chancellor challenged the beneficiaries to work harder to achieve more success.
He also said sixteen students of the institution were selected as beneficiaries for the Osun Development Forum Texas, United States of America, Scholarship Scheme.
