In a deliberate move to improve the security of locals across crisis communities in Plateau State, the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPADDEC) has handed over the remodeled mobile police base to Plateau State government.
The gesture is part of the Commission’s community intervention program and social responsibility geared towards further safeguarding communities prone to attacks by armed bandits
Locals in the Garshish Community of Barkin Ladi Council area of Plateau are in high spirits, as they celebrate the official handover of the remodeled mobile police base in the community.
The Garshish community is among the areas invaded by suspected bandits that caused the loss of over 300 lives and the destruction of many properties in 2021.
That deadly attack necessitated the decision to build a police mobile base in the area; and to make that a reality, the N-Hyppadec shouldered the responsibility of building the facility and has now handed it over
to the state government.
The secretary to the government of Nigeria, George Akume, was the special guest at the event.
