Operatives of the Delta State Police Command in a significant breakthrough, have successfully apprehended a notorious gang of kidnappers responsible for a series of abductions in the Ughelli area.
The suspects, identified as Ismaila Umaru (28), Chede Mohammed (18), both from Nasarawa State, and Mohammed Sani (26) from Abuja, were involved in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of a man on May 17, 2024, in Ughelli.
The police recovered an AK-49 rifle from the suspects during the operation.
The arrests mark a significant step in the ongoing efforts to curb the menace of kidnapping in the region.
