The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised Corps Members to follow the scheme’s rules and regulations and to serve their country with integrity as responsible ambassadors of their families and alma mater.
Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, Director-General of NYSC, made the announcement during an address to the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Corps Members at the Edo State Orientation Camp in Okada and the Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, Southern Nigeria.
He also warned them against taking hard drugs, indulging in fraud, cybercrime, hooliganism, and other social vices that could jeopardize their future, adding that NYSC is not a safe haven for criminals.
To stay healthy, the Director General urged Corps Members to keep the Orientation Camp clean and hygienic both inside and outdoors.
Mrs. Ben-Ushie Frances, the Edo State Coordinator, briefed the Director General, stating that a total of 1,478 Corps Members, including 594 males and 884 females, have made significant contributions to the overall success of the orientation course.
The NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. Olusegun Alao, informed the Director General that 1,933 Corps Members consisting of 811 males and 1,122 females were enrolled.
He further stated that the Corps Members are extremely disciplined and have been assimilated into the various camp committees, and that all camp officials have a good relationship.
