Protesting workers at the Ekiti state university, Ado Ekiti have suspended academic activities at the university campus.
They claimed their action is influenced by the inability of their members to afford transportation cost to the university campus
The protesters are members of the Senior staff Association of Nigerian University as well as Non Academic staff union and National Association of Academic technicians at the Ekiti state university, Ado Ekiti.
They are protesting the non payment of four months subvention to the university and non remittance of deductions to cooperative societies and non payment of salaries.
The are also calling on the Government of Ekiti state to call the commissioner for Finance and Accountant general to order and ensure prompt release of the subvention earlier approved by the state Governor.
They also demanded the monthly payment of thirty five thousand Naira as palliatives to cushion the effects of the current hardship on their members.
