The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Polytechnics, ASUP, has drawn a battle line with the Federal Government over a recently released scheme of service.
ASUP has threatened a shutdown of all Polytechnics across the country if the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, does not withdraw the document and reverse the decision.
The National Executive Council of ASUP, has issued a 15-day ultimatum to the NBTE after which it will embark on a strike.
Affirming it’s support for the ultimatum issued by the NEC of the National Body, ASUP, zone c which comprise of states in the southwest has held a sensitisation and mobilisation Congress.
With looming uncertainty Nigerian students in the Polytechnics may once more be at the recurving end of 5his trade battle between their lecturers and the Federal Government.
