Leadership is not only about holding position of power but ability to build leaders and decision makers that can make positive impacts.
The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele made this known in Abeokuta while speaking on Women Leadership and Islamic Values.
Women must see themselves as leaders with special qualities and positive impacts in the world.
This was part of the positions of the Ogun State Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele during the women conference of the NASFAT, held in Abeokuta.
She said aside from not being able to lead congregational prayers, Muslim women are not restricted from holding any leadership positions and their efforts and roles in building leaders cannot be faulted.
Other speakers at the event want women to make positive use of opportunities at their disposal and avoid relegating themselves due to misconceptions of religious or cultural believes.
The Guest lecturer said women, just like men are leaders and supported her position with different verses of the Islamic scripture.
The conference is expected to serve as a platform for women to strengthen their leadership skills through empowerment and Islamic values.
