Former Local Government Chairmen in Rivers State have condemned the violence witnessed in some parts of Port Harcourt during the protest.
According to them, while residents have the right to protest, some individuals had hijacked what started as a peaceful movement to cause mayhem.
They condemned the attack on the State APC secretariat and the protest at the residence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The former council chairmen also called on the state government to take action to deter hoodlums from further breaking the law under the guise of a nationwide protest.
