Governor of Abia State Alex Otti, has assured that no shop owner at Ekeoha shopping centre will lose his space in the course of rebuilding the project.
He gave the assurances while flagging off the reconstruction and remodeling of the market in Aba.
For weeks, vendors at the Ekeoha market have pleaded with the authorities for understanding.
They hoped that the government would consider them after the market had been rebuilt.
Now, Governor Alex Otti says his choice to reconstruct the market is to transform Aba’s markets into 24-hour business hubs with cutting-edge facilities.
He promised to ensure adequate security as well as provide conducive business environment for customers.
He said that the project would be driven by Public-Private Partnership anchored on a robust stakeholder-engagement and consultation framework.
Others who lent their voices solicited the support of the traders to make the project a reality.
Upon completion, the market would open up new opportunities for traders and serve as a catalyst to the development of Aba.
